Hey Everybody!
Glad you got my letter! So yeah, I got a card that says 9 March 2016, I assume that is my estimated departure from my mission, not sure yet though because the rest of the card is in German. Yes, my departure date to Germany is now May 6, as is everyone else in my district.
I am the district leader in my district, which pretty much means I'm the mailman so far. I'm the only guy who can gather the mail, and the mailbox is a pain to try to open. My companion is Elder S, and he is from Portland Oregon. His plane flew in late so I didn't meet him until Wednesday night. He is a few years older than me and before serving a mission he worked at a hospital. He is pretty quiet, but so am I, and we are getting to know each other better. There are 7 of us total in our district, four going to Frankfurt, and 3 going to Berlin. Everyone else in our zone is going to Berlin, so there aren't many missionaries going to Frankfurt right now. Interesting enough, One of my zone leaders was actually a friend from 2nd grade! I went to his birthday party way back then, apparently he has only been a member for a year now and is the only member in his family. He remembered me as being Kaylor's friend, and I asked what Kaylor was up to, he said Kaylor was serving a mission, but he couldn't remember where.
The classes are pretty much study time right now, because the teachers are focusing on the missionaries leaving on Tuesday. On my third day we started to teach an "investiagator." The food is ok, I try not to eat too much, being stuck here six weeks. Sunday we had a pretty cool devotional, with an organ player for MOTAB and David Archuleta! The organ guy played the organ and piano, and David Archuleta sang. When they announced that he was here, all the sisters swooned, it was pretty funny.
Overall, the MTC has been a different kind of experience, a lot of sitting around and studying right now, our branch president is kind of strict, not so much fun, gym is like PE in school, then there was the cool devotional and I went to the temple today. The days feel like they are going slow, hopefully they speed up.I love you guys and have fun seeing Captain America without me, I'm so jealous!
Aaron
(call me Aaron in your letters, I would appreciate it if you did, not that Elder Baxter is a bad thing)
