Impossible Circumstances

This past Pday I went to the top of the Main Tower and took pictures.  That was fun!  After that the missionaries in our district just walked around Frankfurt and did a little bit of shopping, I of course stopped by the Lego store, and saw the Ghosbusters car set, which was pretty cool.

After Pday, I went on two more splits, one with another Elder in Offenbach, (we got caught in a rainstorm and got soaking wet) and one of the AP Elders in Frankfurt.  While in Frankfurt, we had a pretty cool experience where we happened across a woman, who used to be a member of the church.  The AP had been working hard with members of her family about a year ago, so he was amazed to find her.  The circumstances to come across her were impossible, but yet, we met her.  I am pretty sure she was put in our path by the Lord to find her.

Other than that, I finally witnessed my companion`s baking abilities, and I was impressed.  I also am now a believer in Tide to Go, those things rock!  Anyhow, this next week could be potentially busy and hopefully we see progress made!  I will let you know next week all that has happened!

Ultron reading The Book of Mormon

His mom told Aaron to take pictures of cool buildings.

Aaron is his father's son!

A Lot of Travel

This week I went on two splits to the city of Frankfurt and to the city of Hanau.  And Thankfully, with my new camera, I got pictures!

For the Frankfurt split, I was with my zone leader, who comes from Alpine Utah, and is a bit of a local legend concerning basketball.  While in Frankfurt I took care of my Visa, walked around a lot, took a lot of trains, and pretty much traveled around the city.  It was a fun, but long day.

In Hanau, I was with an Elder who has a lot of the same interests that I do, so we got along pretty well.  We met with less actives, who were really cool people.  One guy was really into music, so he and the Elder I was with played drums and Guitar, that was fun.  The other less active went street finding with us, and he even passed out a Book of Mormon!  This guy has a crazy life story and he could talk to you for hours.  He is a really cool guy (and he is American).

We also had access to a car during the weekend, so that made transportation a lot more easy.  Had some Member appointments, got referrals, yeah, a pretty good week.  Oh, and Ultron has started to read the Book of Mormon.

Time seems to be flying, it is already June!  Anyways, until next time!

In Trouble with the Police

Hello everybody!  So I ended up buying a new camera, so the pictures will start again next week.  This past week I played a lot of volleyball, went to zone training meeting, drew the plan of salvation on the street in chalk, and was involved in a street display.

With the street display, the other elders in Offenbach and us teamed up, bought some chalk, and drew out the plan of salvation on a busy street.  We did it next to where people would get off the trains, so we constantly had people walking by it.  It was fun, a little girl asked me if she could write family in Italian along with everything else we were drawing or writing.  Then the police came and got our info because they thought the chalk wouldn´t wash off, which of course it did the next day after it rained.

A few days later, we went to a area in our district called Hanau and helped out in a street display.  It was nice to be with a group of missionaries there to support each other.  A few Book of Mormons were passed out and the missionaries from the area got a few potential investigators.

On Sunday, we went out to the streets to talk to people, because our appointment to go to the church we visited last week was cancelled.  The first guy we talked too exploded when he found out we believed in God.  He pulled the "starving children in the world" card on us and wouldn`t stop yelling at us.  Not fun.  Later though we found a man that seemed interested and we set up a time to meet with him, hopefully this guy follows through.

So, that was pretty much my week, until next time!

Strange Week

Hello Everyone

This past week has been interesting.  For P-day I went shopping for a watch, I ended up buying a Swiss watch (a Swatch) for 55 euros, which was cheap compared to everything else.  Then the next day I had a district meeting, and during that time I realized I lost my camera!  I really have no idea where it went, but I have not yet given up looking for it.  It stinks though, first week in the field and I lose my camera, not fun.

I had two splits this week, because my companion is the district leader.  I was with an Elder who is currently serving in the Hanau area, we got along together pretty well, and the other split was with one of the APs.  Both times I was on a split, we were able to pass out a Book of Mormon, so that was cool.

I had two lessons with investigators, which were both interesting.  They were both good, but one of them is a Muslim and isn`t progressing, so we will likely stop meeting with him.  What was really interesting though was a meeting we had with an investigator and her mother on Sunday.  We originally were going to meet with her in our church building, but then it got changed so that we ended up going to their church in the evening.  It was called the Church of Jesus Christ, and it was pretty much a evangelical church that had some pretty heavy Indian and Muslim influences to it.  It was pretty strange, with a lot of loud shouting and singing, but afterwards, we talked to the minister and when we talked about our church and Joseph Smith, the room went dead quiet and everyone was listening.  That was pretty cool and we apparently will be returning this week.  The people seemed really interested in what we believed.

I hope things go well this week, but until next time, I hope you all have a great week!
